Photo-library access and local processing

Queryable asks for access through Apple’s Photos permission system. The app can process only the items that iOS makes available under the access level you choose. Full access allows full-library indexing; limited access restricts the app to selected items.

The app uses local Core ML models to create compact visual embeddings and stores its search index on the device. Text queries and reference images are encoded locally and compared with that index. Queryable does not send your photo library, visual embeddings, or search query to a Queryable-operated AI service.

iCloud Photos is an Apple service

If Optimize iPhone Storage is enabled, usable image data may exist only in iCloud. Queryable’s current semantic-index request keeps PhotoKit network access disabled. Make required items available on the device through Apple Photos first; that Apple transfer is governed by your account, device settings and Apple’s policies, while Queryable’s later encoding remains local.

Deleting or editing photo-library items through the app uses Apple’s Photos framework. If iCloud Photos is enabled, Apple may synchronize those changes across your devices.

Data the app developer receives

No Queryable account is required for core search. App downloads, purchases, ratings, reviews, refunds, and any diagnostics you choose to share through Apple are handled through App Store Connect and Apple’s platform services. We receive the reports Apple makes available to developers, which may be aggregated or pseudonymous depending on your settings.

If you contact us directly, we receive the message and contact details you provide. Do not attach private photos or a full photo library when reporting a bug; device model, iOS version, approximate library size, and reproduction steps are usually sufficient.

Website analytics

Queryable.app uses Google Analytics during a time-limited measurement review to understand aggregate page visits and outbound App Store or GitHub clicks. The site sends the page path without URL query parameters or fragments, reduces an external referring URL to its origin, removes query parameters and fragments from same-site referrers, disables advertising and personalization signals, and limits its first-party analytics-cookie lifetime to 90 days from the first visit. The site does not ask you to create an account or set a developer-defined user ID.

Google may still process browser, device, coarse location, referral, and interaction information under its own terms and your browser or consent controls. Analytics blockers can prevent these requests. The implementation is scheduled for removal or renewed justification on October 6, 2026.

Cloudflare delivers and protects the website and automatically supplies a Web Analytics performance beacon. It processes network, security, page-view, browser and navigation-timing information to serve pages, mitigate abuse and report aggregate site performance; the beacon reports through queryable.app and is not used by Queryable for cross-site tracking. The website never receives access to your iPhone photo library.

Your choices and controls

  • Change or revoke Photos access in iOS Settings.
  • Remove the app and its local data using normal iOS controls.
  • Use browser privacy controls or content blocking for website analytics.
  • Manage Apple analytics, iCloud Photos, and App Store settings through your Apple account and device.

We do not sell your photo-library content or use it to train a Queryable cloud model because we do not receive that library.
